Caring for Your Skin the Natural Way

Simple, plant-forward habits for a glow that comes from nourishment rather than harsh chemicals.

Jar of whipped African shea butter

Your skin is your largest organ, and everything you put on it matters. For years I struggled with dry, ashy skin every New England winter. I tried every lotion on the drugstore shelf, and most of them felt good for an hour before leaving me right back where I started.

What finally worked was going back to basics — the same ingredients my elders used. Raw black soap, real shea butter, and good oils.

Cleanse gently

Raw African black soap is made from plantain skins, cocoa pods, and palm oils. It cleans deeply without that tight, stripped feeling. A little goes a long way, so lather it in your hands first instead of rubbing the bar directly on your face.

Seal in moisture

Right after your shower, while your skin is still a little damp, is the best time to moisturize. Our Whipped African Shea Butter melts right in and locks in hydration. For extra-dry spots like elbows, knees, and heels, the unrefined MALI shea butter is thicker and richer.

Once a week, treat yourself to an exfoliating scrub to slough away dull skin. Our Volcanic Ash Body Scrub leaves skin feeling smooth and ready to soak up whatever you put on next.

Be consistent

Natural skin care is not a quick fix. Give your skin two to three weeks to adjust to a new routine. The results come from showing up for yourself every day.
