Building a Morning Ritual with Herbal Tea
How a few quiet minutes and a warm cup can set the tone for a grounded, intentional day.
By Mindful Necessities ·

I used to start my mornings by grabbing my phone before my feet even hit the floor. Emails, notifications, the news — my mind was racing before I had a chance to breathe. Something had to change, and for me that something turned out to be a kettle.
A tea ritual is not complicated. It is simply choosing to slow down for ten minutes before the world gets its hands on you. The act of boiling water, measuring out your herbs, and waiting while they steep is a small practice of patience, and patience is a muscle most of us could stand to strengthen.
Pick a blend that matches your morning
On mornings when I need a little warmth and spice, I reach for our Turmeric Chai. It has that cozy, grounding feel that pairs well with a journal and a quiet corner. When I want something bright and tart, hibiscus is my go-to — that deep ruby color alone wakes me up.
If you are someone who wakes up stuffy or foggy, our Breath Easy blend is one customers tell me they keep by the stove all winter long. There is no wrong choice here. Pay attention to what your body is asking for and let that guide you.
Keep it simple
Steep your tea for five to seven minutes. While you wait, put your phone in another room. Stretch, look out the window, set one intention for the day. Then sit with your cup and actually taste it.
That is the whole ritual. It is small, but small things done daily become the foundation of how we feel. Try it for one week and let me know how it goes.
